Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These terms apply to your use of wraithpawn.com and its installable app (together, the "site"), run by WraithPawn ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

2. Using the site

The site is free for personal, non-commercial use, and no account is needed. We may change, add or remove features, or pause or stop the site, at any time and without notice.

3. Things you agree not to do

• copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell or republish the site's code, design, text or graphics, or build another product from them;
• decompile, reverse engineer or extract the site's source code, except where the law expressly allows it;
• use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to copy the site or its content, including to train artificial intelligence models;
• interfere with the site, overload it, or try to get around its security;
• use the site for anything unlawful.

4. Ownership

The site, including its software, chess engine, coaching text, graphics, design and the WraithPawn name and ghost logo, belongs to WraithPawn and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Using the site doesn't give you any ownership of it or rights to it, other than the right to use it under these terms. Third-party materials listed under Credits remain the property of their owners and are used under their licenses.

5. Trademarks

WraithPawn and the WraithPawn ghost logo are trademarks of WraithPawn. The Cube is WraithPawn's own puzzle-cube tutor. WraithPawn is an independent website and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Spin Master Toys UK Limited, owner of the Rubik's® trademarks, or by any other puzzle maker. Other names mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners.

6. Learning content

The coach's suggestions, explanations, move grades and ratings are for practice and entertainment. They come from software and can be wrong. Your saved games, times and settings live only on your device and can be lost if your browser's data is cleared, so we can't recover them for you.

7. No warranty

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT YOUR DATA WILL BE PRESERVED.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WRAITHPAWN AND ITS OWNER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE SITE IS LIMITED TO US $50. SOME PLACES DON'T ALLOW THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT ALL APPLY TO YOU.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about them or the site will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the updated terms.
